Article from Making Music, January 1987

A Major add 9

Technically, this happyish sounding chord is an ordinary major (root, third, fifth) with one of the root notes bunged up a tone. Try using the X-note like a suspended fourth, adding it here and there. The Fixx use it like that in 'Secret Separation', and Spirit (remember them?) used it in 'Nature's Way', many years ago.
