Article from Making Music, November 1986 | |
Now the amazing thing about this little block of words is that it can say anything you want it to say. For instance, if you concentrated really hard, you could make it say, "My name is Ronald Reagan and my dream is one day to play Old Vic in Shakespeare." See, it's so easy. Or you could have a go at, "My name is Paul Colbert, I'm the Editor, and my dream involves Sigourney Weaver and a rather large amount of treacle." A doddle. As you're winning, how about trying, "My name is Tony Bacon, I'm the Assistant Editor, and my dream is none of your business, thank you so much." OK, so you occasionally get an awkward one. So finish on a strong one. It goes, "My name is Jon Lewin, I'm the Reviews Editor, and my dream has the words 'capricious', 'incorporating', and 'Dave the budgerigar' in it." There's always one, isn't there?
