As you know, we are continually inciting you to write for the magazine, as evidenced by the right-hand column on this page (I wonder if anyone ever reads the small print?). Well, in a month or so we'll be offering a bonus to writers - in other words, if you're reading this, we mean you.

We're running a competition, in our October issue, offering a complete 4-track mini studio (less mastering machine) to the writer of the best short article, so start getting your ideas together. Don't worry if you've never written before - it'll be fair to everyone. But watch out for the full details in October. If you find difficulty getting a copy of SI, as the distribution machine grinds towards full-power, why not get your newsagent to reserve a copy - or, better still, get a subscription (see right-hand column). That way you'll be sure of getting one early. The magazine's being snapped up so quickly that it disappears from the shops almost immediately! Finally, don't forget the Live Music Show, from 7th October, in Harrogate. We'll be there, hoping to meet as many readers and companies as possible; see you there.
