About RE:MIX



Re:Mix combines normal CD audio with software readable by a computer's or sampler's CD-ROM drive. The software will not harm your CD player, but it may make an unpleasant sound. So, if you value your speakers, don't play Track 1! Most modern CD-ROM drives can also play audio CDs, so computer users get the best of both worlds, and don't worry about compatibility. Your CD-ROM drive - Mac, PC or Atari - will simply recognise compatible files and allow you to open only those files.

Software section


1 MAC SOFTWARE

Yamaha DX7 Editor
A fully working shareware program for patching up your DX synth with some new sounds. If you use it, register with the author.

Sample Editor
Another fully working program. This one, as the name implies, edits samples. And very Clever it is too. Full documentation on disk.

PC SOFTWARE

Samples
A collection of 16-bit samples in .WAV format for you to use in almost any compatible application. Sounds include TR808 percussion and bass sounds.

AMIGA SOFTWARE

MODtoMIDI Convertor
A particularly useful little program which takes your MOD file and changes it into a MIDI file to use in any SMF compatible sequencer.

Sound Machine
Convert your samples across a number of different file formats including .WAV, .VOC and .IFF files. Includes a selection of samples in various formats.

Samples
Some samples in .WAV format for you to mess around with, and use in various applications.

ATARI SOFTWARE

MIDIMenu and MIDIScope
Problems with your MIDI setup? Or maybe you'd just like to know more about the funny little messages that go to and fro. Essential public domain MIDI utilities.

Samples
A huge collection of samples in .AVR format for you to use if you have Breakthru or Replay 16.

525 and SConvert
Convert your samples to a format you use with these two excellent programs.

StormTracker
A demo version of this fantastic sample sequencing program, plus a helping of demo tunes in .MOD file format. Read the review in Toolbox.
