The Mixdown Classic 8 comes in three models: 16-8-16-2, 24-8-16-2 and 32-8-16-2. Some of the desk's main features include a full width meter bridge, rack mount power supply and MIDI muting as standard. Eight, 16 and 24 track recording is easily accommodated, and with direct outputs on every channel, the 8 buss format does not limit the amount of tracks you can record simultaneously. The desk is designed in a more traditional and less complex approach to console ergonomics, and is more closely related to the 'split' console format, with a separate section for tape monitors. All sixteen monitors can be switched into the main mix, eight have EQ, and all have access to auxiliaries. As a result, the main channels are not compromised when signals are fed into the console in this way.

This new series comprises the H7000, H5000 and H3000, delivering 750, 500 and 350 Watts per channel respectively into eight ohms. The unit incorporates Yamaha's new High Efficiency Drive technology, which allows the amps to run at approximately twice the efficiency of conventional units.

It also allows the amps to run cooler, enhancing reliability, and drawing on less power, which means that more units can be configured without overloading the mains supply.

All three models can be used in bridged mode, for extra power delivery: 1900 Watts for the H7000, 1400 for the H5000 and 900 Watts for the H3000 (all into four ohms). Also new is a Dual Mono mode, which allows a single mono source to drive two independent speaker systems.

The VG-8 V-Guitar System utilizes Composite Object Sound Modelling or 'COSM'. Using COSM, the VG-8 has two modes: Variable Guitar Modeling (VGM) and Harmonic Restructure Modeling (HRM).

In VGM mode, the VG-8 utilizes models of different pickup types and configurations, amplifier types, mic placements and guitar body types. The VG-8 has the ability to 'virtually' put the pickup anywhere on the guitar, even on the actual neck. Many different types of modelling make this possible, including electric, electronic, electro-mechanical and physical modelling.

In HRM mode, the VG-8 takes the actual guitar waveform and restructures its harmonic content in realtime, thus producing entirely new and expressive sounds. It can be controlled by any guitar, using a Roland GK-2A divided pickup. The unit also includes added effects and parameters.
