The RSS 10 is a two-channel system that utilises a fast, new DSP three-dimensional sound processor. A complete 360 degree reverb soundscape can be generated using the RSS-10, including digital processing of reflections, delays and Doppler effect. Using the RSS-10, sounds can be placed or moved above, towards or around the listener using only two conventional stereo speakers for playback. As the sound source moves through the three-dimensional plane, the reverb reflections move accordingly in realtime. This produces true 3-D sound with natural room ambience.
The RSS-10 offers azimuth, elevation and distance control, resulting in a true three-dimensional soundfield. Sixteen units may be linked together for a total of 32 channels of three-dimensional audio.
It also comes with two software control packages for Macintosh or Windows platforms. The software allows the user to position up to 32 channels of audio within a three-dimensional space. In effect, this allows the user to design the sound space statically, in a way similar to placing instruments in their respective places on a stage.

Already the Technics 1200 of CD-mixing, Denon's DN2000F twin DJ deck boasts an impressive range of new features. All are user-programmable, enabling DJs to customise their machine, and are cleverly concealed within a sub-menu. This preserves the famous simplicity of the DN-2000F, but now allows the operator to program the following:
- Pitch variation switchable from ±8% to ±4%, allowing fine-tuning.
- Choice of digital pitch display in place of track number display (to within 0.1%).
- Choice of single or continuous play.
- Choice of 'time elapsed', or 'time remaining' display.
- Automatic cue point programmable to seven levels (from -36dB to -72dB), bypassing lengthy fade-ins.
- Flashing 'end of track' warning, programmable to seven levels, from -60 secs to -5 secs.
- Safety option of automatic CD tray-close after 1 minute open.
The DN-2000F will default to these presets on power-up, as all are stored in a non-volatile memory.
In addition, the DN-2000F Mk II boasts a longer cable between remote control and drive units, 'real instant start' (0.01 sec), a brighter LCD display, and safety measures such as a power switch cover, and flush-topped CD trays. Best of all, all these improvements are provided without upping the price of the original DN-2000F.

This new range of budget mixers have new input circuitry and selectable gain structure, insert points throughout, multiple aux returns and apparently lower noise figures than ever before. There's no need for the usual 3G three year warranty, as the Mynah PLUS range come with a full 5 years of cover. The eight model range consists of various configurations from 8-2-1 through to 16-4-2-1, with five models being 19" rack mountable.
Heading the line up of the Mynah PLUS mixers is the 16-4-2-1 RM + HUSH, the world's first budget-priced console to incorporate HUSH noise reduction circuitry. HUSH eradicates unwanted hum or hiss from a noisy input source such as a guitar cab or keyboard rack, without affecting the quality of the music. The use of the single ended system means there is no encode/decode process, and with the use of dynamic filtering and downward expansion, noise suppression of up to 60dB is possible.

Crown's latest power amplifier features recessed level controls and a re-settable circuit breaker power switch located on the front panel. In addition, signal presence and Crown's unique I.O.C distortion indicators provide convenient viewing and monitoring.
A cooling system, and grounded-bridge circuitry ensure extra reliability, with a central fan that disperses air to all output devices. 'Fault Protection' circuitry means that in the event of output transistor failure, the power supply of the affected channel shuts down, protecting speaker components while leaving the other channel free to operate.
In stereo, it delivers 760 watts per channel at four ohms, and 540 watts per channel at eight ohms. In bridged-mono it provides 1,525 watts per channel at eight ohms, and 1,090 at 16 ohms. In parallel-mono, it offers 1,530 watts at two ohms and 1,080 at four ohms.

The RE-800 Digital Echo is a new product, which is reputed to be at the most attractive price yet for a dedicated 1U rackmount echo unit. It is designed mainly for vocal processing applications including Karaoke. However, DSP technology lends itself to a performance level for sound quality, accuracy and range of adjustable parameters that exceeds other units of its class. It would also be ideal for delay/reverb effects for general PA applications, as well as performing live and home recording with guitars and keyboards.
It has nine effect modes for use with various applications. A range of delay times up to 2,000ms as well as delay effects that evoke warm analogue tape echo fluctuations are featured — particularly good for adding echo to vocals. In addition, five delay and different reverb combination effects with delay times of up to 1,000ms are available.
