Welcome to The MixArticle from The Mix, June 1995 |
The editor says his bit
Though there are more audio and music shows in the year worldwide than there are boring old farts (not my words) on the rugby union selection committee, the Audio Technology 95 show (formerly the APRS Show) in London remains one of the most important. This year the show hopes to attract a far wider cross-section of music producers than before, not restricting itself to its traditional pro audio audience. This of course reflects the continuing trickledown of technology, and the blurring of the line between professional and 'home' recording setups.
As well as being able to see all the latest gear on display, there will also be a series of seminars covering various aspects of music production. These proved very popular last year, particularly the lively sessions put on by The Mix (college lectures were never this much fun), and luckily we've got another superb lineup of guest speakers this time around (see page 12). We'll also have a large stand at the show, where you can meet the staff and take advantage of some special show offers. All in all, Audio Technology 95 promises to be an essential event for all those involved in music production, so leave June 21st-23rd free in your diaries...
