C bass gives C minor (maj 7)
Previous "Chords of the Month" have rather neglected the minor side of things so here's a minor ninth which includes a major seventh. The minor/major elements clash to give a sort of raised eye-brow, quizzical feel if the shape is used as a final chord. Fifties jazz persons among you might well know "Mica's Dream" in which the chorus starts with a vamp alternating between two of the above chords spaced one tone part.
