Article from Making Music, September 1987

With a click of the latch the door swung back and the intruder was inside the new offices of Making Music. Now, what to do? Should he find the Demology file and insert a five star review next to his own band, or leaf through the editorial contacts book for all those home and holiday numbers of famous musicians? A flickering light on the ansaphone caught his attention. What vitally important, nay money-making message could it be? He could not resist, and flipped it back to 'play'. Suddenly an ear-splitting howl burst from the machine, whines and feedback piercing the air. Fearing he'd triggered an alarm the intruder fled, never hearing behind him the end of the tape. "Hello, you're not in are you, this is a recorded message from the Jesus and Mary Chain..." (From a true story... well, bits of it.)
