Note 1: Use a brass instrument mouthpiece brush or very small teapot spout brush and electrical cleaning fluid on non switching sockets and plugs; use aerosol cleaner on switching sockets and scrunchy pots.

Note 2: Sometimes you can tell this by a sharp 'crack', a little flash and/or puff of smoke, or a transistor with half its head blown away. Might be difficult to tell if FX are all ICs or sealed circuitry.
