Article from Sound On Stage, February 1997 | |
Already it's the fourth issue of Sound On Stage, yet it doesn't seem five minutes since we were putting the first issue to bed. Over the past few months, we've received some very encouraging comments from both you, our readers, and from the music trade itself — and getting a pat on the back is always nice. We already know that you appreciate our practical approach, but what would be even more useful would be for you to let us know what else you'd like to see in the magazine. Sound On Stage is ideally positioned to examine all aspects of live performance, so if you think there's something else we should be covering, tell us.
Sound On Stage isn't just about PA systems, backline, and mics, it's about all aspects of performance, which means we're able to address subjects such as how to improve your singing, how to tighten up your stage presentation, or how to get a better guitar sound. Instrument and equipment maintenance will also be covered, but of course, we can't fit everything in every single issue, much as we'd like to. If there's something — equipment, technique or otherwise — you'd like to know about, just ask; if we don't know the answer, we'll try to find a man who does.
For those of you already 'wading the web', you can E-mail us on 100517.1113@compuserve.com, drop us a line by letter or fax; alternatively, just pick up the phone. Whereas most magazines don't take telephone enquiries from readers, we value your calls, because it helps us target your needs more precisely. This is a policy we started at our sister publication, Sound on Sound, but please keep your calls to office hours. And finally, thanks for making Sound On Stage so successful, so quickly. We feel that live sound is a very important area, and it's good to know that you agree with us.
