Article from Making Music, May 1986

May/Day - things of import, and another strange guitar ready to stick on your studio wall.

HAGSTROM P46 DELUXE. This majestic Swedish instrument with plastic fingerboard, four single coil pickups, and six 'Sound Colour Control' buttons would have set you back £75 in 1959 (Strats were about £150). The P46 Deluxe was advanced for its time, with a clean modern sound not unlike a Rickenbacker, though only 1000 were made (and very few of them gold ones). Their secondhand price rocketed after an appearance on the cover of Roxy Music's debut LP.
