More news from cyberspace

With a title drawn from The The, State51 is a politically aware site established by some of Fleet Street's most far-sighted journalists. With half an eye to the future, The Hub is a sub-section of State51 which covers all things audio visual, as evinced by these screenshots from Islington's Big Chill club. The event in question was broadcast on the net as it happened, and replies from net-surfers all over the world were projected as part of the installation.

But as the picture below shows, skateboarders are cruising the net too, participating in Jamiroquai videos and developing computer graphics when they're not running T-shirt shops. State51 is one of the most varied and interesting sites on the Web, with news everywhere from Andover to Norwich, and is well worth a visit.

State51 is accessed at URL: http://www.state51.co.uk/state51

In a roughly similar vein to State51, Starchild is an online catalogue of Indie bands 'and more' (It sez 'ere). According to them, you will get the most from it if you are an intelligent, futurist tripper who is an artistic thrillseeking, well-travelled, NASA employee, into fine detail, innovation and computers; a dreamer, spiritual and original thinker who likes technology to be pushed way beyond its edge, a cosmic loving, mushroom eating, pot smoking architect, painter, explorer, designer, prophet or sage.
According to the preliminary results of our reader's survey that sounds like you lot (that'll be right — Ed), so get online and get out there!
