GuitarArticle from Making Music, February 1987 | |

Two for the space of one this month. Much thumbing through the chord book... er.. .sorry, our own vast and extensive knowledge to calculate the first example which we reckoned was sort of Major 6/9 ish, with an extra flattened third. Probably makes it something entirely different. Easy, though, because all you need do is shift one finger from your normal barred E major position. Make sure you get plenty of volume from the A string which is the one that counts, and with a gentle vibrato it makes a moody closing chord.

The mini example is an everyday D position, with a new bass note - miss out the strings inbetween. Very Steely Dan.
