Article from International Musician & Recording World, December 1986 | |
Some of the more astute amongst you will have noticed a couple of additions to this month's issue. First off, there's the matter of the logo. One Two Testing/Zig Zag. Hmmmm. That's the easy one.
As regular readers will know, IM&RW has always spurned artificial distinctions — not for us a pigeonholing of synth players in one place, drummers in another, and guitarists in a third. We are a magazine for musicians, regardless of what they play. And it's with this in mind that we welcome on board One Two Testing/Zig Zag, whose own pioneering coverage of smaller bands, and weirder (!) instruments will offer our regular readers a broader view of the contemporary music scene, and theirs a more in-depth look at some of the issues it raises. In breadth, in depth, and in detail, IM&RW goes from strength to strength.
Just to prove the point, and bringing us to our second surprise, you'll find our special Portastudiomania supplement absolutely free with this month's issue. If you're thinking of buying a portastudio, new or second hand, using someone else's, or even if you're just browsing, there's something here for you. IM&RW — no wonder we've got it taped!
