Article from Sound International, October 1978 |
So where were you? There I certainly was, cooled Guinness in one hand, pile of magazines in easy reach, waiting for the massed musicians of Britain to roll up in their thousands to the British Musical Instrument Trade Fair in London - and suddenly ...nothing happened! Okay, so I exaggerate. Over a thousand SIs found happy homes during the course of the Fair - but these went almost exclusively to people within 'the trade'. Professional musicians are more than welcome to eye up the produce which the impedimenta purveyors heave out of their trucks and into the hotels every year. So why not be there? The thing is the Fair is for you — check it all out and, most important of all, let your voice be heard. After all, communication between manufacturer/distributor and musician can only result in better hardware. So I'll see you all at Olympia next year, okay?
