Article from One Two Testing, January 1985 |
Professor Morewood bent low over his hieroglyphics. Doctors and laundrymen alike had advised him against it, but this was a special occasion, a red letter day, or perhaps, more Egyptically speaking, a red Beagle-with-a-corkscrew-through-its-head day. The final translation was at hand. The Professor glanced at the nervy scrawl which now occupied most of his notebook and several inches of his right knee. "Editor: Paul Colbert. A most magnificent and powerful God, fearsome warrior and soothsayer. Assistant Editor: Tony Bacon. A bit god-like on alternate weekends, reasonably powerful and scary in a poorly lit room. Design: Jerry Arron. Vestal Virgin of the Temple of Benighted Optics, special responsibility for contact urns, the boo which is not to a goose, said." 'Ha, so much for the curse of IPC,' snorted the Professor and absent mindedly scratched at the two staples in the middle of his forehead which he couldn't quite remember having been there at the start of the day.
