Article from One Two Testing, June 1985 | |
It is the year 2085. Hanglon, a shy if successful treasure-seeker of Citadel 6FC, is digging aimlessly in a largely derelict area of Westeurop when his Lazerfork registers an unknown object. "It's a time capsule!" he exclaims. A large sheet of flexible white material falls out, bearing symbols of a typeface unknown to Hanglon. "Hi there people of tomorrow," he reads, barely believing his eyes. "I'm Editor Paul Colbert, and you may like to know it's the first sunny day of spring and it seems to have made people feel much more like smiling than they did last week." "Greetings futurefolk. I am Assistant Editor Tony Bacon and I've got an annoying habit of picking the sides of my thumbs, although I occasionally give up for a few days." "O hello, persons as yet unborn. I'm Designer Jerry Arron, and the phone engineers have at last fitted my phone, but I still feel a bit light on furniture and I'm having problems with the boiler pressure." Hanglon breathed the sigh known only to those of a suddenly enlightened nature.
