Article from Making Music, October 1987 | |
Darkness falls on the deserted Making Music office. Darkness picks himself up, dusts himself down, and says "What am I doing here?" aloud. "Well hello Mr Darkness, it's so nice to have you back where you belong," says the ghost of Louis Armstrong, stepping from the shadows and adding a shiver-inducing shriek from his cosmic trumpet. Darkness screams. "Ahhheieeekk!" goes Darkness. "Mmm, that reminds me," says the transparent jazzman in the sheet, "anyone can play a tune, but it takes a special tune to make that person their own." A voice screams "Cut" and the big lights come on full. The team of people around the office become visible, crouching behind cameras and microphones and equipment. A voice from a megaphone booms, "Louis, love, that's not quite right yet. Can you go for 'anyone can play a tune, but it takes a special person to make that tune their own', OK? Now very quiet, turn over, and action!" Darkness falls on the deserted Making Music office. We must have finished another new issue. And what a wicked coincidence: here you are to read it.
