Article from Electronic Soundmaker & Computer Music, February 1984

The latest range of new equipment launched onto the music scene would seem to indicate a shift away from the idea that electronic music is solely the domain of keyboard players. With the introduction of Roland's perfected guitar synthesizer — albeit it at a price beyond the reach of all but the very largest of piggy banks — and a host of interfacing and sequencing hardware, guitarists and others previously excluded from making a significant contribution, can look forward to renewed involvement... and it's about time too!

Technological momentum is providing wider accessibility for people to listen to and create their own music. No longer is it necessary for songwriters to be accomplished musical technicians — as long as the motivation is there, even the most modest of resources can lead to some amazing results. And one thing you can be sure about, ES&CM will keep you well-informed.
