AHB have announced a number of new mixers. Of particular interest to H&SR readers is the Mk3 version of the popular System 8 model. This update has optional electronically balanced outputs, increased microphone gains with no deterioration in signal to noise ratio, and fader reverse on each of the eight output groups will permit the use of tape monitor inputs as extra line inputs during the mix. Even better, the price remains the same.

Moving upmarket the Sigma 24 is a flexible format 24-buss modular console system that will cover recording studio requirements from 8 to 32-track. Input and group modules have four section fully swept equalisers and eight auxiliary sends, enabling group modules with fader reverse to be used as full function input channels on mixdown. A VCA fader system, providing eight DC groups is available as an option, and auto-muting and fader control can be achieved via the Sigma Series Remote programmer which also allows you the option of a MIDI-based recording system. In the broadcasting field, AHB and MBI have combined to produce the Studio 12 broadcast and production mixer with many facilities of interest to DJs.
