1) MINIPOPS Jr

The original Echo and the Bunnymen machine, but you try finding one outside Liverpool...

2) ACE BENTLEY

An antique much beloved of artists from Arthur Brown to Howard Jones. God knows what it looked like though — there must be one in Roland's Hall of Fame somewhere...

3) GODWIN DRUMMAKER 32-P

A home organist job which sat on the floor looking sinister and bristling with arpeggios, bass lines, auto chords, fills and things. Decent drum sounds, but hardly professional recording studio stuff...

4) HAMMOND RHYTHM UNIT

Not the digital DPM-48 which we mentioned, but the old organ-top unit which had some decent analogue Latin-type sounds. Still lurks in second-hand shops to this day.

5) WERSIMATIC CX-1

Another home organist job with just one programmable song, but dripping with sampled sounds (27 in all), triggering pads and preset patterns. Due for release before the end of 1985.
