Cube Boost

Article from International Musician & Recording World, April 1985

Cube amplifiers are a by-word for compact cost-effective amplification capable of satisfying professional standards. Now the Cube concept has been developed even further with Super Cubes.

Super Cubes — big sounds in small packages.

Super Cubes for lead and rhythm guitar work break all the records for putting big sounds in small packages.

They have all the facilities associated with the Cube range; Line Out, headphone connection, powerful active Eq, and so on. But even compared with standard Cubes what hits you immediately is that they're LOUD. New highly efficient loudspeakers are the key, giving unusually long sustain characteristics and a really impressive high volume performance. The overdrive circuits have been given more power for a heavy, harmonically rich sound at any volume level. Finally, a new Reverb system gives a fuller, richer sound than ever before. In fact, despite their convenient size, the 40 watt, 60 watt and 100 watt Super Cubes all give a sound that's calculated to make you double check their wattage rating.

For the first time bass players can choose from a full range of Cubes including 40, 60 and 100 Watt models. All units use a bass reflex system for an extended bottom end response that belies the size of the cabinets. All have 3-way active Eq and a special 'colour' control changes the overall frequency response. Ideal for all styles of bass playing and particularly useful in studio because of their low noise characteristics, Bass Super Cubes should convince an increasing number of bass players that small is beautiful.
