Sammy HagarArticle from Making Music, September 1987 |
That man on the cover, Sammy Hagar. Would you like to win an AUTOGRAPHED COPY of his new solo album? Thought so. The man has fashioned in finest silver marker on the front of the cover these fine words: "Here's to making music... forever. Sammy Hagar, London 87." What a wonderfully desirable object to own, is it not? All you have to do is answer the two following dead simple questions:
1 Sammy's previous solo album was called "VOA". What do the letters VOA stand for?
2 On the new album, who plays bass? (Clue: he's better known as a six-stringist.)
Write down your answers on a postcard, please, and send them to Sammy Hagar's Desirable Object Competition, Making Music, (Contact Details). Your card must reach us by Monday 21st September, so send off right away. First correct entry out of the office titfer wins the scrawled-on record.
MR PICKWICK'S GENEROUS COMPETITON
Last month we offered a brilliant 13-album set of every breath Elvis Presley took. Answers to the questions were: Scotty Moore was the guitarist in Elvis' first band; Colonel Tom Parker was his manager; and other musical Presleys include Reg (Troggs) and Sid (Experience). And the winner of Pickwick's big beezer set is... reaches into vast box of postcards... Mr Lionel Robinson of London SW14, who will doubtless be feeling all shook up at this news.
